Charles Selby, an officer of Pengrowth Corporation and Pengrowth Management Limited, has worked closely with Jim Kinnear for approximately 17 years from the early days of Pengrowth. He has been actively engaged in all aspects of the business of Pengrowth Energy Trust, assisting Jim and the management team in formulating strategy, identifying transactions, negotiating acquisitions and financing and implementing new business initiatives.

Charles holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University and a law degree from the University of Calgary. Charles has worked as a petroleum engineer in Canada, the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. He subsequently practiced law in Calgary, specializing in securities, oil and natural gas and international financial transactions. He currently operates an independent corporate finance, legal and general consulting firm. He has extensive experience in structuring and financing transactions in Canada and internationally. He serves on the boards of a number of public and private corporations.
