Ron Newman joined Kinnear Financial Limited in 2011 as a Geoscience Consultant. His primary role involves the review of geological data with regard to lands included in the Compton GORR, which comprise the majority of the assets of Caledonian Royalty Corporation. In addition Ron evaluates potential acquisition opportunities for Kinnear Financial Limited. Ron has also implemented a systematic review of all wellbores on Compton lands in an effort to evaluate the ongoing potential of GORRs assigned to Caledonian and also reviews off-setting acreage and land sales which impact Caledonian GORR lands.
Ron has over 40 years of exploration and development experience and contributes a rare combination of technical and management experience. He has applied this knowledge base to co-found four TSE listed companies: Courage Energy Ltd., Geophysical Microcomputer Applications (International) Ltd., Winstar Resources Ltd. and COSTA Energy Inc.
Ron holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geophysics with a minor in Geology from the University of British Columbia and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta. Mr. Newman has been nominated twice for Entrepreneur of the Year in Alberta.
